sodium pyrophosphate
Anhydrous sodium pyrophosphate is a kind of white crystalline powder, which absorbs water easily in the air and delixes. Sodium pyrophosphate decahydrate is a colorless monoclinic crystal or white crystal or crystalline powder that is easily weathered in dry air. The crystal water is lost when heated to 100°C. Soluble in water, aqueous solution is alkaline, insoluble in alcohol. Aqueous solutions are stable below 70°C and are hydrolyzed to disodium hydrogen phosphate when boiled. It has a strong pH buffer and has certain chelating effect on metal ions.
