What is Ferrosilicon used for?
The product has many applications in steel production and casting. It helps to increase hardness and deoxidation properties, while also improving the strength and quality of steel products. Using it to make inoculants and spheroidizers can give the final product specific metallurgical properties, which include:
Stainless steel: has excellent corrosion resistance, hygiene, aesthetics and wear resistance
Carbon steel: widely used in suspension bridges and other structural support materials as well as automobile bodies
Alloy steel: other types of finished steel
In fact, high-purity products are used to produce grain-oriented (FeSi HP/AF specialty steels) and non-oriented electrical steel sheets and specialty steels, which require low levels of aluminum, titanium, boron and other residual elements.
