Overview
What is the pillow plate?
The pillow plate consists of two stainless steel sheets that are laser welded together by welding a custom circular weld pattern. The outer perimeter of the pillow plate is completely laser welded to form a pressure boundary. At the edge of the pillow plate, a contour is welded to form a pressure-resistant part.
The pillow plate is hydraulically inflated with water by a hydrostatic pump.Hydraulic inflation will ensure a safe inflation process. Other inflation processes may be used depending on the application.
The inflation process pressurizes the two sheets, deforming the material and forming a cavity for the heat transfer medium. The pillow plate can be used with liquids, vapors or refrigerants.
