Applications:
It is widely used in the repair of postoperative hyperplastic scars in operating rooms such as obstetrics and gynecology, burns, plastic surgery, general surgery, etc., as well as the treatment of keloids.
When the skin becomes injured, it will naturelly overreact to try and heal itself. During this process, the bodies healing mechanisms’ overreaction often leads to an excessive production of collagen which leads to noticeable scars. While the scar is being formed,the protective outer layer of the skin will provide higher levels of moisture to try and hydrate the scar site but most of this moisture evaporates when it reaches the upper layer of the skin. The lack of hydration causes keratinocytes to produce collagen and if left uncontrolled, the excessive collagen can lead to abnormal scarring.silicone scar patch completely covers the scar site for an even distribution for necessary moisture and necessary exposure to oxygen. The silicone gel strip is semi-absorbent which is ideal for allowing oxygen to enter while maintaining the necessary hydration. This results in the outer layer of the skin to cause the keratinocytes to decrease excessive production of collagen and prevention of abnormal scarring.
