Different types Polyacrylamide PAM:

	Anionic PAM is mainly used in minerals selection,metallurgy, coal washing, food, steel,spinning and paper making industry which involves separation of solid-liquid and wastewater treatment. Anionic PAM can also be used for oil well and oil extraction in oil industry and retention aids and intensifier in paper making industry.
Cationic polyacrylamide is mainly used as flocculants and dewatering reagents for industry waste water and sewage, retention aids and intensifier in paper making industry, waste water treatment in pharmaceutical, leather making,printing and dyeing industry waste water treatment, and organizer in textile industry
	Nonionic polyacrylamide is mainly used as flocculants with high selectivity in oil well fluid and acidic waste water treatment.

Polyacrylamide is a water-soluble polymer, mainly used in various industrial wastewater flocculation and sedimentation, precipitation and clarification treatment, such as iron and steel plant wastewater, electroplating plant wastewater, metallurgical wastewater, coal washing wastewater and other wastewater treatment, sludge dewatering and so on.the paper industry, polyacrylamides are used to improve the retention of fillers and pigments, enhance the wet and dry strength of paper, and improve tear resistance and porosity.

PAM can be added to water to bind to suspended substances in the water and form larger particles, allowing contaminants in the water to settle out, a process known as "flocculation". This process is known as "flocculation" and PAM can accelerate the rate of flocculation to improve treatment results and reduce energy consumption. Therefore, it is often used in wastewater treatment processes.

In the oil recovery process, PAM can be added to the oil-bearing water, where it binds to the tiny oil droplets and forms larger oil clusters, facilitating the separation of the oil from the water, a process known as "oil-water separation". This process is known as "oil-water separation", and the use of PAM in oil extraction can reduce pollutant emissions and increase the production and life of oil wells.

In oil field, as a kind of mud additives ,polyacrylamide is used to increase the visocity of water and improve the effectiveness of the water flooding process.
