The process of making Beeswax is very simple. The little honey bee visits many flowers gathering pollen - can you believe for each kilo of beeswax that the honey bee collects, it would have to visit over 60 million flowers. The honey bee then secretes the beeswax from its abdomen to construct a honeycomb. Beekeepers recover the wax from the comb by heating it in water. The melted beeswax rises to the surface and is removed for use in candles. That’s not all the industrious bees make – we also get honey, propolis and even royal jelly.
