UHT (Ultra-High Temperature) milk processing equipment is a crucial part of modern dairy production lines. It's designed to sterilize milk and extend its shelf life without the need for refrigeration until opened, typically up to several months.

The UHT process involves heating milk to a very high temperature for a short period, usually around 135 to 150 degrees Celsius for 1 to 4 seconds, followed by rapid cooling. This method effectively kills all bacteria, including spores, ensuring milk safety and preserving its nutritional value.

Key components and steps in a typical UHT milk processing system include:

Pre-Treatment: Before UHT treatment, milk goes through pre-heating, standardization (to adjust fat content), and filtration to remove impurities.

UHT Sterilizer: The heart of the system, which can be of two main types:• Direct UHT: Milk passes directly through a heated section, often a tubular heat exchanger.• Indirect UHT: Utilizes steam injection or infusion (HTST - High Temperature Short Time) to heat the milk.

Cooling System: After treatment, milk is rapidly cooled to around 4-6 degrees Celsius to prevent any bacterial regrowth.
