Candelilla Wax 100% Pure and Natural Vegan Wax

for DIY Lip Balms and Lotion Bars  

CANDELILLA WAX is obtained from the desert plant Euphorbia antisyphilitica, which grows in the southwestern United States and northern Mexico.

The wax is extracted from the plant with boiling water in the same manner as it was about 50 years ago.

Candelilla wax emulsions or microemulsions of unreported composition were used as citrus coatings as early as 1974.

Formulations of unreported composition were also used to coat bananas. Water vapor permeability of candelilla wax was reported to be 55% that of carnauba wax and 31% that of beeswax.

Citrus fruit coated with candelilla microemulsions had low weight loss and also low gloss.

Candelilla Wax Skin Benefits 

Candelilla wax is the perfect alternative to Beeswax in cosmetics, it imparts a lovely sheen and smooth texture to balms. It helps protect the skin whilst locking in moisture, aiding the other skin softening ingredients in balms to stay on the skin imparting their qualities. It has also been known to help reduce inflammation of skin disorders and allergic reactions.

COMPATIBILITY:

Candelilla Wax is compatible with most vegetable and mineral waxes and a large variety of natural and synthetic resins.
