1:Ribbon Layer
Thermal Transfer Ribbon is basically a polyester film on which are coated different layers. Ink layer is transferred to the label thanks to the heat delivered by the thermal head of the thermal printer.Usually the ribbon has 3 layers ,however our ribbons have 4 layers that can protect the print head well and with a good print image.
2:Ribbon categories/Wind Directions
You may notice when shopping for these ribbons that there are two categories: coated side out (CSO) and coated side in (CSI). This refers to where the ink coating is on the ribbons, affecting how they're wound and fed through the printer. Most printers can only take one style or the other..Before chooose the ribbon you need to know what kind of ribbon(CSO or CSI) to match your printer
