About Light Color for growing of plants

1.Red light

Main light(wavelength between 600-700nm) that can be absorbed by green plant. As the most important one in artificial light, red light will contribute to making plants more strong and flourishing.Red light 660 is helpful to plant growth, germination, flowering, and maturation, it plays the leading role during the process of coloring plants, and it also could promote the photosynthesis.

2.Blue light

Blue light(wavelength between 400-500nm)can make chloroplast more energetic, improve the activity of Oxidase, lengthen the life of plant, prevent plants grow irregularly and enhance growth make it more moderate, and blue light on the other hand, it will impact the photosynthesis. Blue light will help to improve the mineral element of lettuce. Generally speaking, blue light should not be too much.

3.Green light

Green light(500-600nm) Generally speaking, add green light adequately could help to diagnose some plant diseases due to the limitation of single combination of red light and blue light.

4.Yellow light and orange light

Yellow, orange, purple, green light all belong to PAR(photosynthetically active radiation). But there are needn’t too much on plant. Yellow light will have a best performance to nutritious quality of lettuce. According to the plant spectrum, for example, some yellow light could help the growth of young spinach based on red and blue light.

5.UV

UV is these light that wavelength below 380nm. One of the important feature of “plant factory” is lack of radiation UV-A and UV-B, if there are inadequately UV light, it will lead to the negative response and further damage the development of plant, therefore, it is necessary to adjust the quantity of UV in your “plant factory”.
