SPT CO2 laser focus lens are all made of USA imported CVD ZnSe, which is produced by DOW chemical. USA made CVD ZnSe with sided AR-coated, whose main function is to decrease or eliminate the reflective light from lens, prisms, etc. and thus to increase these components transmittance rate and decline or eliminate stray light. Our focus lenses have advantages over than those of others, such as low laser power absorption rate, enduring high laser power density, stable surface coating film and wiping resistance. In CO2 laser industry common working band, 10.6 um, our laser lens transmittance rate is 99.8%.
As a most economical transmission laser focus components, laser focus lens is widely used in laser heat treatment, welding, cutting and infrared radiation collection. focal length
Focal length affects both spot size and depth of focus. Commonly thicker material needs bigger focal length. In general a shorter focal length will produce a smaller focused spot and a shorter depth of focus. Usually the specified focal length is a compromise between desired spot size, penetration depth and workpiece clearance.
lens shapes
Plano-convex is the simplest and cheapest lens shape. A plano-convex lens should be oriented with the flat side toward the workpiece and the convex side toward the laser. Meniscus lenses have a concave curve on one side and a convex curve on the other. At relatively short focal lengths, a meniscus lens will yield a smaller focused spot than a plano-convex lens. However, meniscus lenses are more expensive to manufacture than plano-convex lenses because both sides are curved. A meniscus lens should be oriented with the concave curve toward the workpiece.
