Weld-on hinges, also known as barrel hinges and lift-off hinges, provide a strong, compact, and attractive method of attaching metal doors to metal frames for electrical, agricultural, security, safe, tool cabinets, gate, enclosure, and many other industrial applications.
Weld-on hinges are available in steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, with steel, brass, and stainless steel pins, and with or without grease fittings. All sizes shown below are available, many items are kept in stock.

Our weld-on barrel hinges are also known in the industry as bullet hinges, or simply weld-on hinges. They are an ideal solution when you are dealing with limited welding space on a door or frame and a broad leaf hinge will not work. Weld-on barrel hinges also provide a clean appearance to any application.
A weld-on barrel hinge is comprised of three parts, the pin side, or the male, the leaf side, or the female, and also a bushing between the two halves. Steel barrel hinges come with a brass bushing, while stainless steel and aluminum barrel hinges come with a stainless bushing. All three hinge materials we stock, steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, are offered with optional grease fittings.
We stock sizes from 1.50” up to 10” in plain steel, and 1.5” up to 8” in stainless steel and aluminum. Our sizing chart shows part numbers corresponding to the overall length of the hinge in millimeters, and conveniently shows the corresponding size in inches.
Weld-on barrel hinges can be used both in lift-off door applications (hinges are both aligned with the pins pointing in the same direction) or non-removable door applications (hinges are aligned with pins point toward one another).

How to Install or Replace Door Hinges?
1: Place your hinges in the correct location.
Assuming you're installing a new door, you'll need to find the precise location on the door frame for your hinges. Most doors require a minimum of two hinges: one hinge is located 7-inches from the top of the door frame, and the other hinge is located 11-inches from the bottom of the door frame. Measure this distance and mark the location on the frame, and then do the same on the door that you're hanging.
If you have a third hinge (typically used for heavy doors), it will be placed directly in the middle of the other two hinges (this will put it slightly off-center).
2: Trace around the hinge.
Put your hinge in place on the door and the jamb, and use a carpenters pencil to carefully trace around the hinge. The depth of the hinge on the jam should always be as thick as the hinge is. Double check to make sure that your outlines match the same location on the door and jamb, before moving to the next step. Then, use a utility knife to score the outline; this will make it easier to cut the mortise.
3: Cut the mortise.
Using a dull chisel will make it more difficult to cut the mortise, and cause you to use more pressure with the hammer (which could cause a slip).
If you cut the mortise too deep, you can use wood filler or place a thin piece of wood in it before installing the hinge.
4: Mark the location of the screws.
5: Drill the pilot holes.
6: Install the individual hinges.
What Door Hinge Do I Need?
For most applications a residential-grade door hinge will be sufficient for what you need. Residential-grade door hinges will be sufficient for solid-core doors and hollow-core doors up to 8-feet tall.
There are three basic styles of door hinges:
