Specification
The use of tantalum metal: tantalum is a slightly blue light gray metal, because of its many strange characteristics, has a wide range of applications, therefore, known as the "metal kingdom" of the versatile.
Tantalum is very hard, with a hardness of 6 to 6.5. It has a melting point of 2,996 ° C, ranking third only to tungsten and rhenium. Tantalum is malleable and can be drawn into a thin wire or foil. Its coefficient of thermal expansion is very small, only 6.6 parts per million for every 1 degree Celsius increase. In addition, it is very tough, better than copper.
Tantalum also has excellent chemical properties and is highly resistant to corrosion. It has no reaction to hydrochloric acid, concentrated nitric acid and aqua regia under both hot and cold conditions. When tantalum is immersed in sulfuric acid at 200℃ for one year, the surface damage is only 0.006 mm. The experiments show that tantalum has no effect on alkali solution, chlorine gas, bromine water, dilute sulfuric acid and many other agents under normal conditions, but only reacts with hydrofluoric acid and hot concentrated sulfuric acid. Such a situation is relatively rare in metals.
