Oil absorbents are made of melt-blown polypropylene. Being hydrophobic, they are also called oil-only absorbents which repel water, making them most suitable for cleaning oil spill.

Chemical absorbents can absorb liquids including acids and fuels, they can be used for specific purpose for general maintenance and cleaning equipment.
Universal Spill Kit
Universal absorbent can absorb a wide range of liquid including oil and common chemicals.
