Application of FeTiC Powder

FeTiC powder is used as a cleaning agent for steel in steelmaking; Titanium reacts highly with sulfur, carbon, oxygen and nitrogen, forming insoluble compounds and chelating them in slag, and is therefore used for deoxidation and sometimes desulfurization and dedentition.

In steelmaking, the addition of titanium produces a metal with a finer grain structure. Ferrotitanium can be made by mixing titanium sponge and scrap with iron and melting them together in an induction furnace.
