Q:
What is RFID ?
A: RFID is short for Radio Frequency Identification,it is a non-contact data communication
between the Reader & Writer device and tag.
Q: What is NFC ?
A: NFC is short for Near Field Communication,it's development technology is later than RFID.
Q: What are the differences between RFID and NFC ?
Answer:
1. Working Frequency
NFC is 13.56 MHz,while RFID covers low frequency, high frequency and ultra frequency.
2. Working Distance
Theoretically, NFC works within 0-20 cm, yet virtually on product, a special power controlling
technology made its working distance 0-10cm so as to better ensure safety operations.
RFID working distance varies as it has different frequencies.
3. Working Mode
NFC support read and write, card mode; RFID, reader and non-contact card are two independent
entity,can not be switched.
4. Communication Mode
NFC support P2P, RFID does not.
5. Protocols
The underlying communication protocol of NFC is compatible with the underlying communication standard
of high-frequency RFID, that is ISO14443/ISO15693 standard.
6. Application
Low Frequency
High Frequency ------ NFC (Non-contact IC card)
RFID
Ultra Frequency
Micro Wave
