AS5040 is a contactless magnetic rotary encoder used to measure angles throughout the entire 360 ° range. This product is an on-chip system that integrates integrated Hall components, analog front-end, and data signal processing functions within a single package.
When measuring angles, simply equip a bipolar magnet that rotates above the center of the chip. The magnet can be installed above or below the IC. This angle measurement method can instantly indicate the angular position of the magnet, with a resolution of 0.35 °, which means 1024 positions per turn. Digital data can be presented in the form of serial bit streams or PWM signals. In addition, it can also provide users with programmable incremental outputs, making this chip very suitable for replacing various optical encoder products. AS5040 has a built-in voltage regulator that allows it to operate at 3.3V or 5V power supply voltage.
