RLA Stem
The RLA stem is attached onto bottom of top drive motor housing. The hydraulic fluid is fed from the main manifold into the stem through radial passages at the upper end then out to all actuators in the pipe handler by fluid grooves while rotating or in any stationary position.
Shot Pin Assemblies
The shot pin assembly can drive the RLA in either
direction freely. During make-up or break-out
operations, the RLA can be locked into any of 24
index positions by a hydraulic shot pin.

Pipe Handler
The torque arrestor assembly hangs from the RLA. It
provides backup for making or breaking connection
