Why does the toji have white hands?
He has the translucently bright, smooth hands one never sees on a 53-year-old man. The secret is hidden in the treasured raw materials and manufacturing methods. “A few years ago, I had to hurriedly take over the sake brewery that is the family business”. So says the president of “Miyakotsuru”, a venerable sake brewery that has been in business in Kyoto for over 175 years. “For many years, I had large dark spots on the back of my hands, but as I worked as a toji, blending the materials, I eventually noticed my hands had become so white I hardly recognized them, and others around me were increasingly surprised too. Around that time, the subject of developing cosmetics came up, and I started hoping to develop products because I wanted other people to experience the same effect”.
The Miyakotsuru sake brewery has been in business in Kyoto for over 175 years
Kuramoto-No-Shizuku is supplemented with the extract of sake lees from Miyakotsuru, a long-established sake brewery which has been operating in Kyoto for over 175 years. Miyakotsuru sake uses “Iwaimai”, a rare and delicate rice variety that is difficult to use in mass production, “Kyonohana” Kyoto yeast, and “fushimi”, the soft and refined groundwater that wells up from below Kyoto. This extremely precious sake lees extract can only be made once a year, using these 3 treasured ingredients.
Sake lees extract
The manufacturing process that creates Miyakotsuru sake lees leaves double the ordinary concentration of the skin-lightening ingredients in rice, so the lees are supplemented with twice as much of those ingredients, which are arbutin and kojic acid. Furthermore, the sake lees extract also contains protease enzyme, which breaks down proteins. It softens old keratin in skin, promoting skin turnover. So, sake lees extract from Miyakotsuru contains abundant skin lightening ingredients, which make skin lighter and smooth.
Concentrated whitening packs for nighttime use
These apply-where-needed whitening packs contains two fermented extracts:sake lee extract and fermented honey extract. When the pack is removed,the old keratin gently peels away,whitening the skin.
