MOISTURE RESISTANCE

MgO board’s retain their excellent dimensional stability even in damp and humid conditions and can be installed at an early stage in the construction programme, before wet trades are completed and the building is weather-tight.

Through experiment and testing, Wellyoung Mgo board has established that after Wellyoung MgO board has been immersed in the water for one month, it keeps its original shape, without deformation or expansion, its dry-wet deforming ratio is 0.26%, its water absorbing capacity is 15%, and the creasing resistance is 15Mpa under dry conditions and 22 Mpa under moist conditions.

FIRE PERFORMANCE

Wellyoung Mgo board is non combustible and can achieve fire ratings as high as 4 hours given the correct installation it can be used for sound studios , schools, public areas, movie theatre’s, train partitioning, bus partitioning, boat partitioning, shopping centres, any area where the fireproof function is necessary.

The material is classed A class as tested by many international testing authorities. It has been tested to the American and British standards for fire. The South African bureau of standards testing requirements meets those of both the American and British testing requirements.

SOUND ABSORBTION

Wellyoung 9mm board will provide the same and better reduction in sound as a standard 123mm wall made of four layers of 12mm gypsum board, which is equal to the soundproof of effect of a 150mm common solid brick wall.

BIOLOGICAL AND CHEMICAL RESISTANCE

Wellyoung board is resistant to mould growth, most chemicals and attack by rodents and insects.

LIGHT WEIGHT AND HIGH INTENSITY/STRENGTH

Wellyoung 9mm thick board weights 9.63kg/m2. When using a steel frame and MgO board as cladding the weight is about 1/10 of that of a common cement brick or clay brick wall while the anti-impact intensity is 2-3 times that of a normal plaster wall. It can be easily installed and the construction time is much shorter.

ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES PREVENTION & ANTISTATIC

Wellyoung MgO board is suitable for use where electromagnetic waves interception and static electricity prevention function are necessary. Such as operating theatre’s, X ray rooms of the hospital , laboratories , cleaning rooms, electronic component assembly area, film factory’s, any area which requires the reduction of electromagnetic waves and or antistatic environments.

MDF SUBSTITUTION

Wellyoung MgO board is used commonly instead of MDF because the magnesium board surface condition is clean.

OSB SUBSTITUTION

Wellyoung Magnesium board is a substitute for OSB ply woods to help strengthen in the residential industry or the steel frame housing industry.

FLOORING SUBSTITUTION

Wellyoung Magnesium board is commonly used as flooring.

WellYoung Mgo Board can be used :

• As an effective way to fight mold and mildew. Magnesium-oxide boards are used for building rooms expected to have high humidity, saunas, primarily kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms.
• As protection and lining of all types of metal and timber structures;
• instead of the sandwich and composite panels in building walls for industrial halls, warehouses, offices
• As watertight roofing underlay;
• to construct interior wall and partitions wall lining, especially valued for its sound absorption properties
• for suspended ceilings
• As insulation of foundations and lift shafts;
• For suspended facades, under bay windows and balconies;
• For the construction of air ducts and ventilation systems, tolerating high temperatures;as small formwork in some road construction works

Recommended thickness of WellYoung Mgo Board sheets for use in construction:

• Suspended ceilings – 6 mm
• Paneling of exterior walls, under bay space and balconies – 10 mm
• Lining of interior walls – 6 mm
• Construction of self-supporting wall structures and partitions – 10 mm
• Floors – 2x12 mm
• Roofs and insulation under tiles or waterproof materials for flat roofs – 10-12 mm
• Formwork – more than 18 mm (after consulting the engineers/builders)
• 

Fire Resistance limit of fireproof MgO board:

9mm Wellyoung MgO board could be applied for >= 120mins fireproof lightweight partition wall;

12mm Wellyoung MgO board could be applied for >= 180mins fireproof lightweight partition wall.
