Heavy Duty Roller Chain:

Heavy Series Roller Chain is not necessarily stronger than Standard Series Roller Chain. However, the thicker link plate provides greater capacity (approximately 10%) for absorbing shock loads, increasing in fatigue resistance for those drives subjected to
heavy shock loads, multiple stops/starts or reversing.

A: There are lots of ways to less the cost in chain production.
-The prices from some steel factory are cheaper but the physical properties are poor.
-Reduce production process: Plate material annealing, twice punching plate hole, centerless grinding,
shot peening, chain pre-strength, etc.
-Use cheaper material for pin, bush and roller.
-Use thinner chain plates.
-Shorter the heat-treatment time or overload in furnace each time.
