Description


GENERAL DEFINITION

  • Helical oil separators are designed for correct separation of oil in discharge gas and ensure recycling of oil into  compressor in the most effective way. The purpose is to keep carter’s oil level, minimize possible excessive oil circulation, and increase the system’s output.
  • Helical type oil separators have more effective oil separation capacity compared to conventional oil separators.
  • Helical type oil separators can be used in various systems and multiple compressors.
  • These oil separators are designed for low-pressure systems, scroll and piston compressors
  • They must not be used for screw and rotary compressors.
  • Helical oil separators are products with buoy systems, and they undergo very accurate production process.
  • All active parts working in buoy system are fully made of stainless material.
  • Buoy system is protected against pressure and circulation formed within the product.
  • Any contamination can be easily caught by magnet in buoy part at oil output point, and thus it is ensured that valve operates in cleaner media.
  • Buoy flange system may be easily dismantled and installed thanks to special foot connection.
  •  Inner surface of oil separator is wound by stainless filter, and thus heavy oil particles collide with filters along spiral path, and separated from discharge gas.

Analyzes of oil separator abnormal

1.  No oil inside the oil separator

Oil separator does not have oil inside before working , heat gas from the compressor is mixed with refrigerant and oil , oil separator uses centrifugal device separates the oil and keep it until it goes back to compressor. D 102 oil separator can keep maximum 0.6 L oil while D 159 oil separator can keep maximum 1 L oil .

Judgement and Solution : see if oil level of compressor shown on sight glass is less than 1/2 . if yes , fill oil to compressor .

 

2. Still no oil in oil separator after filling oil to compressor for times

System error makes the oil keeping in low pressure side of system , can not come back to compressor .

Solution : check the system , let the oil return back to compressor .

 

3. Solution : use 159mm oil separator when connection is bigger than 35mm .

Diameter of connection bigger than 35mm , size of oil separator should be 159mm but not 102mm , otherwise centrifugal device has not enough time to separate all oil , there will be some oil mixed in the gas and will stay in aluminum fin of condenser , this will lower capacity of the system .

4.Noisy

1) Floating ball fall during transportation .

2)Welding made the valve block out of shape and the floating ball closed to the wall of oil separator , the floating ball will hit the vessel and make noise during oil separator working .

3)System tube shorten due to client reason for saving costs .

 

5.Oil stays in oil separator and cant go back to compressor

1)Floating ball block , valve needle not on its position .

2)Dirty system block up the oil separator

3)Bad quality oil becomes sludge inside the oil separator

 

6.Leak at the connection of oil separator

Solution: Revers at oil separator 55824 , 55855 , 55866 and 55877

        Bush at oil separator  55889 and bigger sized ones .

 

7.Copper tube problems

1)Holes on copper tube due to welding excessive .

Solution : Use silver welding rod or platinum welding rod , so as not to hurt the copper tube .

2)Round hole on copper tube due to bad quality casting

3)Copper tube cracking : purity of copper lower than standard , wrong mold during expanding , will make the copper tube cracking after welding .
