Disinfection systems are a critical filtration process in all aquatic filtration systems. Disease has completely wiped out many facilities, many of which never recovered, resulting in bankruptcy filing. Surface waters can be particularly problematic as all disease organisms exist naturally in the environment. These disease organisms whether bacterial, viral, or parasitic can cause major problems in aquatic systems as the densities of animals is magnitudes higher than what you would see naturally in the wild allowing disease to easily spread from animal to animal. Parasitic organisms can be much more complicated as many have life stages that include a spore stage, a stage in their life cycle where they are impervious to most disinfection techniques. It can kill 99.9% of Harmful Bacteria (E Coli, Coliforms, Viruses Fungi, Algae, Spores etc.).

Our special UV resistant 316/316L housing is highly resistant to corrosive water, and therefore very suitable for salt water applications.
