PFSA Proton exchange membrane is a solid polymer electrolyte, which has excellent heat resistance, mechanical properties, electrochemical performance and chemical stability. It can be used in acid, alkali, strong oxidant media and other harsh conditions. Because of its excellent performance, not only is it used in the production of PEM fuel cell, it's also widely used in chlor-alkali, electrolysis, electrochemical synthesis, gas division, electrochemical sensor and others. It serves as the solid electrolyte membrane in various electrochemical cells dependant on selective conduction of the cation.
PFSA Proton exchange membrane major characteristics:
1. Good cation conductivity;
2. Low H2 crossover;
3. Good electrochemical stability;
4. Excellent dry-wet conversion performance;
5. Outstanding mechanical strength.
PFSA membrane should be handled and processed in a properly ventilated space. Surrounding temperature and exposure time in the air are also factors jointly affecting the membrane property.
Two ways are proposed for scrap handling, recycling and landfill.
Incineration disposal could only be applied when the hydrogen fluoride and other hydrogen-containing oxide are able to be burnt out. Processing, storage, transportation and scrap treatments should observe national laws and local regulations.
The product is completely packed following certain packing rules, which can guarantee sufficient protection to the membrane, and is suitable for operations in cleanroom. There is no visible contamination while the core is plastic.
Note: There are five layers of packaging in total including the carton. The carton can be opened in normal environment. But for the rest layers of inside packaging, clean room environment is necessary for them to be removed.
The product must remain sealed before use. Once opened, it should be stored in a climate-controlled environment, maintained at 23±5°C and 50±5% Relative Humidity, out of direct sunlight, and away from heat and dust.
Before using the membrane, pre-condition the membrane roll to the processing area for at least 48 hours.
Once opened and exposed to the environment, the membrane will equilibrate to the ambient relative humidity, and change in dimensions accordingly. Membrane order dimensions are specified and measured at 23±5°C and 50±5% relative humidity.
Once opened and remained unused for over 4 weeks, the unused part should be put back in the original packing bags and repacked.
