Intelligent overhead line fault monitoring system is an automatic, efficient and intelligent fault point detection and positioning management system, which is based on intelligent fault indicator technology, Sub-1G wireless communication technology and Internet of Things technology. It is mainly used for online monitoring and line fault positioning of power distribution, including phase-to-phase short circuit fault and single-phase ground fault. It determines the line’s leading-out terminal, branch segment and area where the fault is located by detecting the fault current. When a fault occurs, the inspector can quickly find out the fault area according to the received fault information and the alarm display of the indicator, which improves the efficiency of the inspection work and shortens the power outage time. In this way, the effective operation of the work provides a strong technical guarantee for the power distribution network.
It can collect the fault status and working conditions of the line from the communication terminal. At the same time, it can display, alarm, save and report the data.
It can set the parameters and upgrade the program of fault indicators remotely.
It can monitor the load current and temperature of the line and tell the position of the line fault. With its help, the monitor center of the power distribution can get the real-time data and fault position of the line.
When a fault signal is transmitted to the monitoring system, the monitoring system will alarm with voice, flashing display on the computer and SMS (selectable function) to inform the staff.
When the short-circuit fault or ground fault occurs, we can shortly find out the fault point. For example, if the line 2 # phase B 2, 5 ,8 indicators and phase C 3, 6,9 indicators turn red display and 11,12 indicators are staying white display, then it can be judged that the point D has occurred short-circuit fault or ground fault.
