Tempering:
When oven-cooking, place your blocks on a low rack. Heat slowly to the lowest setting (170°f) for +- 30 minutes. Increase the temperature and leave for another half an hour, and repeat this process until you reach 500°f. When finished, turn the oven off and leave the slab to rest inside until it cools to room temperature. Once cool, now the block will be ready to use for cooking, heating: Your salt block should be completely dry before use.
How to use for Cooking:
Place the Himalayan block on the range with a metal ring in between for air passage. Turn on low heat for 15 minutes. increase heat to medium for 15 minutes. Increase the heat again; medium/high for another 15 minutes. You may use a laser thermometer to check if the temperature has reached up to 500 degrees. Another way to measure the heat is to splatter drops of water which shall sizzle and evaporate quickly due to the heated block. Your salt block is all set to be used. The total time required will be between 40 to 50 minutes.
Tips:
Always ensure that your salt block is thoroughly dry (and cool) before use. Try using a laser thermometer to check the temperature when cooking or splatter water droplets, which should sizzle and evaporate quickly. Use in conjunction with sizzling steaks or tantalizing seafood like shrimps or scallops.

How to care for it after use:
Let the salt block temperature cool naturally and completely after cooking. The blocks' natural antibacterial properties make it easy to clean, meaning there's no need for soap. In fact, this should be avoided - as should submerging the blocks in water. this is important to preserve your blocks while preventing damage. To clean, rinse gently under running water - using a soft sponge or brush to remove food residue. dry immediately and thoroughly using a clean towel, and leave to air dry for 12 hours.
