Product Description

Megatex© is a grafted natural rubber whereby a secondary polymer, Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) is grafted into the primary natural rubber polymer. Megatex 30© is a latex polymer type.

This product is non-toxic and have a typical light odour. With increasing PMMA content, viscosity increases concomitantly.


Megatex© exhibits typical colloidal properties. It has a brookfield viscosity comparable to that of natural latex centrifuged concentrate thereby enabling easy miscibility and blending. 

Technical Advantages

The grafted polymers have been commercially exploited in two distinct fields of applications - as a self-reinforcing polymer and as an adhesive.


The excellent adhesive properties of Megatex© are due to the chemical structure of the polymer which contains both polar (PMMA) and non-polar (rubber hydrocarbon) components. This structure makes the polymer an excellent material for bonding unlike surfaces, which are non-compatible because of their polar and non-polar characteristics. Hence the polymers are widely used as adhesives to provide excellent bond between rubber adhesive and polyvinylchloride film.
