A gas discharge tube GDT, is a glass-enclosed device that is sealed and contains a special gas mixture which is trapped between two electrodes.(ceramic ,electrode electronic powder , and special inert gas .).Gas discharge tubes conduct electrical current after they become ionized by a high voltage spike, can conduct a relatively high amount of current for their size and can handle some very large transients or several smaller transients. Gas discharge tubes also take a long time to trigger, which permits a higher voltage spike to pass through before conducting a significant amount of current.low capacitance . Non Radioactive .
