Ball mill is key equipment for grinding after  crushing process,  is widely used in industries such as mining,cement, silicate, new building material, refractory material, fertilizer, ferrous metal, 

nonferrous metal and glass ceramics.

It also can be used for the dry and wet grinding for all kinds of ores and other grind-able materials.

Structure of Ball mill: 
The machine is composed of feeding part, discharging part, turning part and driving part (reducer, small driving gear, electric motor and electric control). 

The quill shaft adopts cast steel part and the liner is detachable. The turning gearwheel adopts casting hobbing process and the drum is equipped with wear-resistant liner, which has good wear-

resistance.

Application

A ball mill grinds ores and other materials to a typical product size of 35 mesh or finer.

The feed to a ball mill is prepared by:

  • Single or multistage crushing and grinding
  • Crushing, screening, and/or rod milling
  • Primary crushing and autogenous/semiautogenous grinding

Normal feed sizes:

  • 80% passing 1/4 "(6mm or finer) for hard ores
  • 80% passing 1 "(25mm or finer) for soft ores
  • (Larger feed sizes can be tolerated depending)

The length to diameter ratio of cylindrical mills is range from 1 to 1 to 3 to 1. When the L/D ratio is 2 to 1 or greater, we refer to the mill as a Tube Mill.
